Can a worm drown? No! Worms can breathe oxygen through their skin. If a worm is in the ground, it can pull oxygen out of the moisture in the air around it. If it is surrounded by water, it can still breathe. It can pull oxygen out of the water and into its body. It doesn't matter if your worm is in water or the air because it can get oxygen from both.
