Worms Predators

Worms don`t live peaceful lives. Many things eat or kill worms.  One of worms main predators are...... People!  Fishermen (or Fisherwomen) dig for worms to use for bate. Farmers can  accidentally  hit worms with their plows. People are a big predator to worms. But animals are big predators, too. Some of them are:

Moles
Birds
Snakes
Racoons
Chipmunks
Skunks

Even though worms have many threats, there still are always more worms in the world. And more worms are always getting born. So the world is always full of worms. Happy Worming!

Can Worms Drown??

Can a worm drown? No! Worms can breathe oxygen through their skin. If a worm is in the ground, it can pull oxygen out of the moisture in the air around it. If it is surrounded by water, it can still breathe. It can pull oxygen out of the water and into its body. It doesn't matter if your worm is in water or the air because it can get oxygen from both. Happy Worming!!

Do Worms Have A Nose?

Do worms have a nose? Of course they don`t! I mean, have you ever seen a worm with a nose? I think not! So then how do they breath?? Worms don`t have lungs, so they breath through their skin. After that, the oxygen goes straight into their bloodstream. Worms have to be wet in order for the oxygen to get  into their body. But, if your worm is too wet it will drowned, or if your worm doesn't have enough water, your worm will suffocate. But if the water has lots of oxygen in it, it can breath. Happy worming!
